I have seen this floating around Facebook for a couple of days now but didn't have time to watch it. Yeah, it is 3 am and I can't sleep again, I have always been a night owl, or maybe a Vampire!?! Anyway, this was well worth the watch. We all know that The Newt calling President Obama the food stamp President was just another dog whistle for the Racist Right, but thanks to Rep. Gutierrez we now have the facts on who the REAL food stamp President really was!

Democrats Abort Black Babies

I was innocently checking in on twitter last night while watching my DVR'ed MSNBC Election Night Coverage and twitter BLEW UP! I had to switch over to live, then I had to fast forward the DVR and watch the few seconds I missed. OMG! This guy is insane! This is how oblivious these people are, he is being a BIG FAT RACIST, while blaming it on MSNBC! WOW!

He actually said Democrats abort Black babies! There are no black role models because Hollywood doesn't make movies with good black people in them. This guy just kept digging while I was screaming, the President of the United States is a good black role model! You know, I think he and his buddy The Newt don't see that because they just don't think that black guy belongs in "their" White House!

Why can't people remember who The Newt is? He is the Grandfather of NEGATIVE POLITICS! He may not be the slug that invented it, but he is the amphibian who brought it to life in the death thralls (sorry Skyrim reference, Alex lent me his 360 and game so I could fight dragons!) of the 20th Century.

My Dog Can Talk

Seriously! Ok, maybe only Mom and I can understand him, but he is trying to get a treat from AC by telling him, "I love you." (he did get the treat!). I used to have a Scarlet Macaw that I tried to teach to say I love you for years, but he refused. Probably because he hated me! But Spike will say I love you for food!

Sorry the picture is so crappy, it's my cell phone, but if I would have gotten up to get my camera he would have followed me and the show would have been over.

So, where have I been and why am I not posting about politics or the stupid Gov.'s (WI) who has a John Doe investigation carrying on around him, that he is working very hard to ignore, while being recalled. Or maybe the other Gov. (NJ) who thought they should have given the racists in the south the ability to vote weather they wanted discrimination to continue or not! How about the Gov. (IN) who gave the response to the SOTU address with all his doom and gloom...be afraid, while trying to destroy unions even after watching what a disaster that was for another Gov. (WI). I saved the best for last, how about that beautiful Gov. (AZ) who put her uppity figure in the face of the President to sell books. Then she tells the Fucked News Channel she felt threatened by the President? Well, this is why I haven't been blogging! The world of the Republicans has gotten vastly too detestable to even blog about. The level of stupidity is frightening! To think that half our country (if it is really half anymore) is this DUMB, it's astounding!

So as soon as I get over the shock at the level of ignorance the entire Republican Party has sunk to, I will be back. Just posting this is a sign that the shock is easing....

SERIOUSLY Endomondo!

I updated my Endomondo App on my cellphone last night and it sent this request to everyone in my contacts list....even my blog!!!

The Endomondo App is what I use to track my walks and I only use it in the summer, but update it often. I usually share it to Facebook, but my big fat finger must have hit the contacts list instead (tiny little cellphone touch screens, GAH).

So if you got the following message and wonder what the heck it is...sorry! I must say I do love this app though, it is the most accurate one I have found. Unfortunately it doesn't track you on the treadmill or the recumbent bike. :D

It is chock-full of information and links, it will take me a while to go through the entire thing, but I plan to do it!

I always wonder why my husband isn't mad all the time. He says it "isn't a big thing, that is how it is". Wow, he is a far better person than I am. Don't get me wrong, our entire existence in this family has been one huge racial discussion, and some times I have to remind AC that I am still white, but I can see from a different point of view from what I was raised with now.

I have a very recent example of what it is like to be black versus white:

Alex very frequently calls to talk to me on his way home from work. (Once I even got to hear him be hit by another car...that was terrifying!). Last night we were talking and he was telling me how the tape on his bumper was coming off (yeah, the person who hit him didn't have insurance so his bumper is held on with strapping tape), then he said something about a bunch of cops. All of a sudden he says he has to stop, well I thought he was being stopped by the cops. (They had stopped him before when his muffler went out, just to check if he had insurance on the piece of crap...haha.). So here I sat worrying, wondering if they found some reason to detain him or arrest him. The kid has NO record, NO tickets, and the most he has ever gotten was a parking ticket! So as the minutes ticked by I got more and more worried. Finally after about 40 minutes I text him. He wasn't stopped by the cops at all, he had to stop to tape his bumper back on. Would I have been worried about an arrest for some minor infraction had my son been white...NO. A record would not have gotten in the way of employment, loans, even housing for a white son, but it sure as hell would for my black son!

Our Year 2011

Happy New Year!

This is a very long video so I only expect my kids to watch the entire thing! ;)

I have been working on this video for 2 days with my new iPad flickr stacker and iMovie App...and I finally finished. It was fun going through the year and I actually learned something, I really have to be more careful when I upload my flickr pictures. So many of them were not in the sets I create for every month. I think that should be my New Year's resolution!The music used doesn't have any specific meaning. I went through some of the top songs of 2011 and picked out a couple I liked. I resisted the urge to use The Eagles, Long Way Home. I think I would use that in every video I make if I didn't make a conscious effort to branch out in the musical world.

Hey did you hear the Packers won again? They not only won, but the second string quarterback Matt Flynn set a team record for most touchdown with 6. I know the game didn't mean that much, and we benched many of our first stringers, but I would have been ticked off if we went into the playoffs with a loss at home...so YEAH!!

AND...I almost forgot...it is snowing! Our first measurable snow of the season come on the first day of the year. Was really wondering if there would be any snow this year.

Christmas 2011

Well, Christmas is over...thank goodness! I didn't get everything done, and Christie has to trim my tree on Christmas Eve, but I made TONS of cookies. I gained 10 pounds before I even finished cooking Christmas dinner. Guess what I will be doing this week? Lots of exercise is what!!

So do you like my little movie? Mom gave me iMoney (iTunes cards) so I bought the iMovie App and a Flickr App that makes it easy to download pictures to my iPad. It just takes minutes to make movies and upload them to You tube. I will probably use all my iTunes money buying song to set my movies to.

Now I must learn to resist the cookies! Wish me luck.

This Baby Has Skills

This reminds me of a class trip I took with Christie's 4th grade class. They may have been an undisciplined bunch of kids, but when the "Thong Song" came on the radio, every kid on the bus started singing along and knew every word on pitch and in rhythm. Music is the Universal Language.

While this little guy may not have the words, he sure has the rhythm and the phrasing down!

My Mom Doesn't Need Fixing

I spent a little time on twitter today. It has been a while for me. I thought when I got my iPad I would be on twitter all the time, but I don't like the app, at all! I have always been the type who takes awhile to used to a new things. I missed my community though, so I went back today.

I had already seen the video of little Elijah with Michele Bachmann, but I knew everyone would be all a twitter about it. Most of the people I follow were RT'ing (re-tweeting) it, but the few conservatives I follow were grossed out by it. They thought it was horrible what his mother made him do. I could actually understand where they were coming from on that front, but as the mother of two mixed race children I could also understand why his mother "forced" him to do it.

It took this "Lily White" girl a while to understand and actually see the strange looks I got when I took my kids into public. My Mother noticed and combatted the offenders much faster and forcefully than I ever did. Even though I always thought of my Mom as my hero, taking on more of an untraditional role for a woman in the 60's and 70's, because of my Fathers blindness, I never really appreciated the full extent of her heroism until she stared down and yelled at some old man in Antigo WI who was looking at her baby grandson the wrong way.

So to say that Little Elijah shouldn't have been "forced" to say what he did to Michele Bachmann just seems ignorant to me. Children know when their parents are being disrespected. They know when they are being disrespected. Even though he was only 8, children of "different circumstances" grow up faster. They have to combat hate their entire lives, while the people who are doing the hating ask parents like Elijah's or me, "how dare you do that to your children?"

I am proud of Elijah and his Mother, I am proud of my Mother and my Children, I only hope that I, and my Country, can some day grow up to be something that someone can be equally proud of.

Only now it is the Wreck of the Brothers Fitzgerald!I went to get Christie from Madison today and there were Recall people at the Rest Stop, Recall people on the corner of the Street where I park, and Recall people on State Street. I am taking AC this weekend to either the Union Hall a couple of blocks from my house or the Democratic Party offices. Alex signed the other night at my grocery store. I should go look there first, because that is where I signed the petition to get rid of our County Executive before Walker. After Walker got in and started tearing our County apart I swore I would never sign another recall again. Well I take that back now, because this is one Recall you couldn't stop me from signing!

The Long And Bumpy Road To Recall

Now that the Scott Walker is ready to "officially" start in a couple of days I thought I would take a look at the road we have navigated since those days of marching around the Capital in Madison in the cold and snow of February and March.

We all know by now why we where there, Union Busting, but I just wanted to innumerate some of the things the Republicans have done to make Democracy just a little more difficult.

1. First and foremost is the voter suppression law signed into law in June and set to be enacted in 2012. I have seen a couple of different numbers, 17, 27, 28...whatever the number it means that 27 people (not percent mind you, but people) were found allegedly voting illegally in 2008. That is 27 people out of over 3,000,000 people voting in the State of Wisconsin!

How many college students, elderly, poor, minority people will just not vote because of the new law?

"These voters often lack a valid photo ID that would allow them to vote. According to a 2005 UW-Milwaukee study, 55% of African-American men and 49% of African-American women in Milwaukee, 46% of Hispanic men and 59% of Hispanic women, 23% of seniors and 78% of young African-American men and 66% of young African-American women lack a photo ID."

How many County or City Clerks will unintentionally suppress the vote even further because of this intentional voter suppression law, as seen here in this Blue Cheddar Blog piece.

2. While those voting in the recall election didn't have to show the ID for the State Senate recall elections in August, the Democrats did have to face fake Democratic candidates in fake Democratic Primaries in July.

3. Meanwhile the Republicans were busy redistricting our State in July. Something they haven't done since 2000 because it required by the State Constitution after every Census. A little added bonus to the Republicans though, was that they set up the lines so that some of the challenging Democrats in their Senate recalls were redistricted right out of the seats they were running for.

4. After the Democrats picked up only 2 of the 3 seats they needed to gain control of the State Senate the Republicans got down to drawing up some real serious jobs bills...OK no they didn't, but the did try to speed up the redistricting from November of 2012 to RIGHT NOW! That didn't work, but Republican Senator Schultz did get his office egged because he said he wouldn't support that.

5. The Republicans are also trying to make it harder to turn in the recall sheets, demanding that each sheet be notarized before being turned in.

"not each individual signature which appears on each recall sheet. However in yesterday’s hearing G.A.B.’s Kevin Kennedy made clear that when the signature gatherer gets that sheet of, for example, 10 signatures notorized, they are taking an oath which opens them up to possibly felony. conviction".

6. And now we come to the reason why there are quotation marks around the word OFFICIAL in my opening paragraph. It seems that yesterday some heroic citizen filed Recall papers for Scott Walker. It has been just a given that United Wisconsin To Recall Walker and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin are handling the Recall efforts. We this heroic citizen who claims to be filing the recall paperwork on a promise to a dying friend. YEAH RIGHT! He is a Walker supporter using the name “Close Friends to Recall Walker” to enable the Governor to start fund raising for his recall this weekend as he goes around the country hitting up some big money donors, instead of having to wait until November 15, which is the DPW's plan. So the guys group should be called "Close Friends of Walker Helping Him Raise Money Against His Recall". I have the guys name and address, I should call and see if he needs volunteers to go around collecting signatures for his fake recall! (And of course as Zack says in the comments of the last link, there is no need to harass the guy. Calling between 9am and 5pm Mon. thru Fri. should be fine, right?)

Please everyone in Wisconsin ask before you sign a petition to Recall who is running the Recall. They are once again trying to confuse and distract.

Racist as a ploy! My husband, (whom I will from now on refer to as the "expert", because frankly what do I know about racism, I was born a white middle class farm girl who never even saw a black person until I was about 8 or 9, and only then because my father had to go to the VA in Minneapolis or Milwaukee) has been asking where Rush was during the 60's? Where were his parents? Were they watching the marches from the safety of their living rooms or reading about it in their rural news paper and thinking the savages were about to break down their door? I would like to know, but frankly I just can't stomach Limbaugh lone enough to even look up where he was born. 23 years Rush has been called a Racist...don't it make you wonder that if he has been called this for 23 years, maybe those name callers were right? Thank you Lawrence for showing the awful truth about this LIAR!

All I know is that my husband just dropped his Health Insurance because he was paying $500 a month, while still paying 90% of his doctor bills and prescription. We just can't afford both anymore. Will "Obamacare" help? I, who went to rallies and followed every word on C SPAN, don't know! Our lovely Governor is trying to postpone part of it for at least 3 years right now.

I got no proof, because there is none, but I got a bunch of "generalizations". Meanwhile, I am off trolling the T-Bagger sites garnering a bunch of racist T-Bagger articles and racist T-Bagger pictures preparing for the moment they ask to see proof that the T-Baggers were racist. Of course they didn't challenge me on that, because they KNOW that this stuff is out there.

One of the guys actually said, "please educate us by showing how the tea party contains a greater percentage of racists that the society at large." I can't do that, because I don't believe that. But...me being me, I did a little google search and came up with a study on T-baggers and Racism. Gaddafi is dead. For most of my life this man has been a hated enemy of America. I heard this morning that next to Osama Bin Laden, Khaddafy was responsible for the largest loss of American life due to terrorism.

I do believe our President has found the correct foreign policy solution to terrorism, fighting from within. I have been saying this for years. Hug the people tight. Show them what freedom from tyranny could mean for them. Then send in some strike forces and take the sucker out. Incidentally I believe this is what is going on in Uganda and I think it is about time we did something for the African people.

The Rights favorite phrase for President Obama Foreign Policy is "Lead from behind", well I think these Righties would have lead us into disaster. They refuse to give him any credit for any victory. I actually heard a first term T-Bag Senator from Florida this morning on FOX say "I don't think now is the time to assign blame, but while I agreed with the President on sending troops, he waited too long.". He went on to say, "England and France were actually the leading forces in this NATO lead offensive.". (yes, I just had to turn on FNC to hear what the idiots had to say, and wow, just what I suspected...more anti-American bull crap!)

So Gadhafi is dead (still unconfirmed). I am about as proud of my President as anyone can be. He really knows how to handle the massive responsibility of leading a Super Power threw this age of global terrorism. So let the Right call it "leading from behind", because whatever you call it, it is working.

As I was marching with my son last Saturday in the Occupy Milwaukee Protest, all I kept thinking was, "Wow, this feels good!"

For years my husband has been asking, "Where is my bailout?" Saturday was the first time I though I represented him! One of my favorite chants was: "They Got Bailed Out, We Got Sold Out!"

Banks are sitting on Trillions of Dollars while Republican Candidates are calling Corporations people or it is the fault on the people if they are not rich! Who do they represent?We Are The 99%!

Here is what I want form the Occupy movement: I want fairness. If you make over a Million Dollars in this country pay a little more! I want my son to be able to pay his student loans. That means a good job with good wages! I want my husband who is the sole provider for our family to feel like he matters! I want banks to start lending out some of that money to get small businesses like my husbands solvent! I want to stop feeling like the American Dream is DEAD!!

After the march as we were waiting for AC to come pick us up I saw a car with all the T-bagger regalia. You know, the snake flag, the "NOBAMA" bumper sticker, the "I Support Scott Walker" window cling. This car drove up to the park, slowed down and inside the car were a man and a woman, I would say mid-sixties, early seventies. As they slowed to stare at the "Hippies" I wondered why they didn't stop? Why didn't they get out of their car? Why didn't they join the Drum Circle? Isn't this the exact fight that the "Tea Party" wanted? Didn't they hate the bail outs? Isn't this a fight they also want to wage? Seems to me we have something in common with the Tea Party...so why aren't they joining us?I will assume they went home to their home on the South Side, collected their Social Security, used their Medicare, and railed on and on about the horrible hippies wanting to take the money right out of their pockets, that they saw that day in October. I also assume if the internet were around in the 60's while the civil rights protest and the anti-war protests were going on, we would find much of the same comments by every Tom, Dick and Harry on the right. It heartened me, OK I started crying, to hear the Rev. Jesse Jackson out at OWS last night when the cops wanted to take down the first aid tent.

We need people like the Reverend Jesse Jackson to come in and show these kids (and old folks like me) how to do this protest thing!I hope the Occupy Movement continues. I hope is spreads! I am glad that finally someone, lots of someones are standing up and saying "I'm MAD as HELL and I'm NOT going to take it ANYMORE!"

Why Do We Have To Define The Occupy Movement

I understand that the punditocracy and politicians think there can not be a movement in this country without some pure definition. I disagree! Occupy is a way for the little guy, or as I like to call them "us", to be noticed.

I never watch the Sunday morning shows anymore. I wait for my RRS feed to disseminate them. Today I was very pleased to see our new go to guy Jesse LaGreca was on This Week, and once again he spoke for "us" as the round table stayed in there air-tight Washington bubble.

A lot of people from all across the spectrum are having a lot of trouble trying to find meaning in this, even just plain old "us" are asking, "What next?". I don't think this has to be drawn into a big political organization ala the Tea Party. We just want to be heard! I suppose if this moved on into a progressive movement I would follow, but I think in this country we need to stand up for the sake of standing, move for the sake of moving, let those in Washington know that Wall Street isn't going to win them elections, we are, and they better start paying attention to "US"!

Blogging From The iPad

As you can see I started blogging again.

I thought when I got my iPad I would go back to blogging again, but the desire completely left me, along with politics and fighting the good fight. Now as summer has turned to fall and the garden is dying I thought I would try again, only to find out that there was no Blogger App for iPad and the web browser version just doesn't work. I attempted to send in my blog about Rick Perry's Rock through email but while it looked great in theory and offline, it only sent the picture and not the text. So after pasting the text in to the web browser I still can't get the paragraphs to work right (I will change that as soon as I get the computer going, which because of the iPad is laying dormant more and more.)

So now I am using an iPhone App for Blogger and keeping my fingers crossed that this works better, because as time goes by I do have a thing or two to say again.

Now I am crossing my fingers and pushing Publish...

**update: Yeah--Happy Dance-- Yeah! It works and I can also edit old posts! I now have paragraphs again...I missed paragraphs! Lol**

After hearing of Rick Perry and the Rock, I thought that his rock was a good metaphor for the way white people have handled racism in America.

According to Rick Perry when his father leased the Niggerhead Hunting Ranch the rock was already there. Then at 'some point in time' the rock was painted over with white paint. As the white paint began to fade and the words began to show, they then tipped it over so the word was buried underneath. But the rock is still there, they didn't cart it away, they didn't distort it, they just made it hard to read the word Niggerhead. But hiding the word didn't stop the local people from still calling the place Niggerhead Hunting Ranch.

So how does my mind coalesce Rick's rock to Racism, well, if I had a nickel for every time someone white said "I didn't own slaves, that was before my time' I would be a rich woman. The word was there before the Perry's got there. It (slavery/the rock) wasn't their fault. Racism/Rock is too big to move so let's just whitewash over it. If we just ignore racism/rock it will go away. When the memories/paint fades and the racism/rock starts showing through, they tip it over. Never deal with the racism/rock head on. Hide it! Tip it over! But NEVER destroy it, because some day racism/rock might be useful.

If Rick Perry were true Presidential material he would gather the press in front of the rock and destroy that rock right in front of their cameras, telling them that this is what he will do to all he "Niggerheads" in this Country. The Republican's tell these fools every day about the numerous cases of voter fraud all over Wisconsin. Well a Task Force in Wisconsin has so far changed a whopping 20 people with voter fraud. Out of the 2,939,604 people who voted in 2008, 20 people were accused a fraud? Give me a break!

The Republicans are LYING about the massive voter fraud and they get laws like this new voter suppression law here in Wisconsin passed because dumb, lazy people believe them. Now a man who stood up and tried to get the truth out has been fired from his job. But good has come from this...the word has gotten out! I was shocked to see the story on the nightly local news, they are actually doing their duty to their viewers! Actually I hear he had a marvelous time in Colorado with his family for his Summer Vacation, but while he was gone he has had some very disgruntled constituents planning for his return!

First of all, how totally OUT OF TOUCH is this man to think he can come to a Labor Day Parade and not get some sort of protest. His constant grin is so delightful, and his wife saying this isn't the time, we are with family, while being surrounded by a bunch of people with Paul Ryan T-Shirts on, is IDIOTIC! Something that Ryan and so many like him forget, they were elected to SERVE the PUBLIC...not their pocket books or their egos.

I hope he DIDN'T enjoy his Labor Day!

Uploaded from my phone earlier today and the video didn't embed, so finally got around to the computer today. The only one busier than this Daddy Cardinal today was me. I spent the whole day cooking then the evening driving. Christie went back to Madison tonight. I wish she could stay longer than the weekend but she took summer classes and she is working now too. Alex has been moved and last night for the fireworks we found out that the church we parked at for years was only a couple of blocks away from his new apartment. So instead of heading down to the lake we went over to his place, met him and then went down to the lake. His new place is only about 2 blocks from the lake (about 8 blocks from where his old place was), which cuts down on his daily run considerably. Christie moves in August, so we should be nice and rested before we move her about 3 buildings down from where she lives now. The fireworks were FABULOUS last night. Walker sounds so convincing about the schools, if you don't know anything about Milwaukee or Wauwautosa, and their tax bases. Wauwautosa has a much higher tax base than Milwaukee, with a fraction of the schools. He is so disingenuous with his claim that his kids go to public schools. We live across the street from Wauwautosa and there is a grade school about the same distance as Christie's Milwaukee Public School, from our house. When we moved here I tried to get her into that school, on what was the 220 Program, where some "city kids" were allowed to attend the suburban schools with MPS and the Government paying these suburban schools to accept a certain amount of "city kids". You had to fill out applications and send in school records then hope and pray they would accept your kid. Christie was put on a waiting list, but never accepted. Wauwautosa schools were almost thought of as the equivalence of a Private School. Last I heard they were trying to eliminate the 220 Program, because the MPS kids were bring down their grade point averages, but they didn't want to give up that extra revenue.

So when Walker uses Wauwautosa Schools as an example of how his budget will not hurt education in the state, his is misleading. They have FAR more resources built on a higher income per household (we do all our Rummage Sale shopping in Wauwautosa, because when they have rummages they are trying to get rid of thing, not make money...you can get some great deals!) than Milwaukee Public Schools, and FAR more academic and arts programs, because of that higher tax base. The High School by me, Wauwatosa East, had play productions every year. Not just your normal High School play, but plays put on with tickets sold city wide. Christie's school, while being one of the better schools in the city, didn't even have a choir and their band was not much to speak of and their art teacher was in Afghanistan more than she was teaching (I think she is safely back now, I hope so, Christie loved her).

I think State Senator Lena Taylor did a great job trying to get the truth out past Walker's spin. I really think that this is the first time he has sat down with someone on the other side of the issues since the debates with Mayor Barrett before the elections. That budget signing performance yesterday was strictly invitation only! He totally ignores the protesters that follow him everywhere, he ignores anyone who comes up and tries to discuss an issue with him, because you know the protesters have all gone home and everyone is tired of the Recall efforts already! He really needs to wake up and smell the coffee, we aren't going away until he does!

I am getting pretty sick of that phrase. You know what happens when everything is on the table? You don't have the space to use the table for what it is intended.
Instead of starting off with a full table, each person should bring their favorite dish. Everyone gets a taste, if they like it they continue to bring it, but if it is disgusting then it should be removed and not rehashed again. Of course the dish could be brought back with more spices and a different sauce, but if the base of the dish is bad...it has to go!
This whole "everything is on the table" nonsense is just irking the crap out of me!

Media Matters

Neal Boortz has called for killing! He claims it is self defense, but he has taken law enforcement, the court system and the rule of law totally out of the picture.

He has put out a call for all his listeners, you know them, the 'good citizens of Atlanta' to pick up arms! Go get "trained" people, before you head out to do some "urban thug" hunting. Don't forget your permit, while you drive down that Atlanta street, sweaty palmed, just waiting for that "urban thug, Yo". Every stop light is a potential killing ground. If one of those "urban thugs" come near your precious car, the car you work every day to pay for, the car that is the life blood of your family, when that "urban thug" comes to take your car away, you will be ready to shoot him dead "right where he stands!" That car of yours is far more important than any "urban thug's" life, "yo."...but why wait until they get to your car, like the Bush doctrine taught us (get them before they get you) and "see some dead thugs littering the landscape" in the ATL!

I know I went a little overboard here, but seriously, why is this guy still on the air? I heard today that he is a lawyer so we can assume that he isn't a total idiot, but from a simple Google search he does have a history of being a racist. Why is this guy who put out a call for citizens to pick up arms and become vigilantes still on the radio? Have we become so desensitized by the "Right Wing Shock Jocks" of the world that this man's rhetoric is no longer shocking? I found it extremely disturbing and so does Ed Schultz and Joe Madison. Joe said on Ed's show this morning, "I think that skin heads are thugs, does that mean I can go out and shoot them too?" Could you imagine the outrage if "The Black Eagle" Joe Madison went on his show and said what Boortz did, only about skin heads? Both of these guys have called out Boortz on their radio shows and Ed has done so on his MSNBC show, but the big 4 networks have nothing. I do remember a story about 3 Black Panther members standing outside a predominantly Democratic polling place in Philly in 2008, on not just the nightly network news but my local news here in Wisconsin, but not a peep about this "more dead thugs in this city guy". I don't want this to just fade into another news cycle and neither does Joe Madison. He is tell his listeners to call the people responsible for putting this man on the air: Cox Communications/Cox Media Group. Several of his callers tried to call Cox directly, but they transferred them over to the Neal Boortz show producers. Cox put out a statement saying they were sorry for anyone who was offended, and providing links to Boortz's show.

One of the Mom things that I used to tell my little "urban thugs" before they went out to play with a ball or bat was, "That is your responsibility, if something gets broken because of your ball or bat, you are to blame, even if you weren't holding it at the time. You make the choice to take it outside or not." Knowing full well that if something got broken, my child would be the only one left stand there anyway, because the rest of the kids (non-urban thugs) would scatter. And things did get broken, and my kids did take responsibility and were often rewarded with not having to pay for the window. This is how Cox should be treated. You have to take responsibility for what you put on your air!

The Tree Is Gone

My half dead tree is gone. It took them about 20 minutes to cut, grind and clean up, so if anyone needs a tree guy in Milwaukee let me know, I have his number. They did take out my peonies and roses, but I expected that. The tree was in a wedge of wires, the electric to our house and the apartments went around it, so where they dropped the limbs was limited to right on top of the peonies. I just keep telling myself that they will be even more beautiful next year because the tree isn't blocking all the sunlight.

I don't like it though, it is too wide open and the yard looks naked. I was used to not being able to see any of my neighbors. OK, before I get too dramatic I have to remember I still have 4 huge Spruce left in my tiny back yard.

Spike was funny when he went out to inspect their job. He ran over to the stump and started barking. They left the stump a little high, but if I don't like it AC can cut it down. The tree guy put my flower pot on the stump...I thought that was cute, considering they KILLED MY PEONIES! LOL

There are yellow rose petals all over the yard.

I was shocked when Lawrence said this is a Misdemeanor! Are you kidding me? I won't tell you what my child said they should do with him, but lets just say it wasn't give him a year in jail (maybe), slap him on the wrists and send him home!

The new gun law is just another unbelievable thing that this Republican party of nut balls has done to our State. I just find it ironic that they are so afraid of the angry protesters that they had to increase security at the Capitol, have armed guards protect them as they left after they passed the budget bill, and make it very difficult to get into the People's House...but right outside the door they will put guns in the hands of ANYONE. Even some nut job who wants to line up a Doctor and some nurses and mow them down.

Just a little TMI moment: My daughter uses Planned Parenthood's services in Madison. She does not go to the facility that this man wanted to shoot up. Do I want to tell her not to go back? Kinda. Will I tell her not to go back? NO WAY! We can't let these people win!

Can anyone guess what that jobs plan is? If you guessed tax cuts, de-regulation, screw the enviroment, and DRILL BABY DRILL..you would be correct.

"THAT IS IT?", you ask? YES! Seriously, the thing is 10 pages long (arguing about the size of the bill is stupid, but...seriously, guys, 10 pages??) with absolutely NOTHING new in it. Go ahead and read it, with all the "big pretty pictures" and "large print" it only took me 5 minutes to complete the entire document...and I read it very slowly!

I am not taking the ticker down at the top of my page until they actually get serious and turn in a "real" jobs bill! How about restarting programs like the TVA and rebuilding our bridges all over the country, or better yet High Speed Rail from coast to coast (except in Wisconsin!). How about putting the other 837,000 people who showed up to apply for a McDonald's job and couldn't even get a job flipping burgers to work building wind farms and solar panels? How about turning the old Janesville auto plants that build frames for giant SUV's and trucks, into factories that build frames for solar panels?

You know we had a blue print for getting us out of this recession, we just needed to do what they did after WWII, build, spend, build. Money spent in the right way is money well spent, but we have to put up with the idiots who tell us "all spending is bad!!" except of course if that spending goes to the very wealthy...arg! ARG!! Universal Health Care would have taken the burden off small businesses and given them more money to grow. Raise taxes on business and give them tax breaks for every full time employee they hire. The more people this country has working the more they pay in taxes, even if those jobs are government jobs! This country may have a spending problem, but it has a HUGE revenue problem! I could go on for days with ideas about how to get America working again, but it is far easier to just regurgitate the same old ideas that don't work and slap it together with a bunch of glossy pictures and call it a day!

A Different Reaction

Almost everyone in America can remember where they were when the World Trade Center was hit by two airplanes in 2001. We will always remember the date, 9/11. But for me the feelings have finally faded a little. I had no friends or relative die in the attack. I don't even 'know' anyone. I live in Wisconsin, so I don't even have the regional connection. But that day effected me greatly! After the first few days I couldn't watch any of the news coverage or I would become phyically ill. All the documentaries and movie they made have still gone unwatched for me. I can't explain why it effected me so hard. (I guess I am still not over it, because I am tearing up a little right now.)

My reaction to last nights news that they went in and killed Osama Bin Laden, was strange. I read the news while on the phone with Christie and it didn't really get a reaction, other than Wow. I have thought that he has been dead for years, buried in a cave somewhere, or maybe shipped back to Saudi Arabia to his family. I just never thought he was still alive, so I was wondering where they found his body and what was his state of decomp. I went onto facebook and twitter and it was going crazy, they said that the President was giving a Speech soon, but I hadn't watch Game of Thrones on HBO yet so I went to watch, then Alex called. He told me to turn the TV to the President and I did. When the President said that he was alive and they went in to kill him...I gave out a whoop whoop! I didn't have the "run in the street" reaction that Alex found kinda "morbid". I didn't cry, as many on twitter were doing. I did have a smile and I was laughing and of course ran to wake up AC and tell him what "Our President" did! I didn't find the cheering in the street wrong. I feel that the people who are upset by the spontaneous celebration in the street need to back off (just for once you bleeding heart liberals! ;D) and let them feel the way they need to, let them react the way they will. Now that I think about it I am kind of shocked at my non-reaction.

Now that the news has said that Osama was buried quickly (and at Sea..OMG) in accordance with Muslim tradition, release The Donald's of this world. I have decided to turn "The Donald" into a synonym for false conspiracies, the same way "being Breitbarted" (After Andrew Breitbart, who likes to cut up video footage to make people look bad and ruin their lives and careers) is being lied about. Last night the Republican outrage was about President Obama not giving Bush credit for catching Bin Laden...no seriously, I'm not joking!...because after all Bush started the "looking for Osama" process almost 10 years ago....LOL!

A man stood up and asked her if she didn't feel that he had the right to a minimal amount of Health Care, to which Heidi responded, "Health Care is not a right." The man then said something to the effect of, then you are from the party of Me and I am from the party of compassion. And that is it! THAT IS IT! The Republican's like Rick 'Man on Dog' Santorum states it perfectly on this clip, you don't need anyone to take care of you, do like the founding Father's tell you to do in the constitution...GO IT ALONE! You don't need Medicare, you don't need Social Security, you don't need firemen, policemen, or teacher! DAMN DAMN DAMN...I was so busy today preping the house to get not one but 2 mattress sets that I forgot Lil Scotty Walker was playing the Big Time in Washington DC today. From what I see on facebook...he didn't fair so well against the Dem's. He is a punk, he has always been a punk, and he will always be a punk...PERIOD! I was listening to the ED Show on the radio, and he played his Town Hall from Madison yesterday. He had State Senator and Hero Chris Larson on, who just happens to know a thing or two about Lil Scotty, as Chris was an County Supervisor before becoming a State Senator last fall. He told Ed that Walker was all about the publicity. Any time he could get his face on camera, he considered it a win. Lil Scotty didn't care if it was in a good light or in a bad...all he wanted was publicity! Sounds like a TRUE REPUBLICAN TO ME! LOL!!

So, I am off to see if I can find the hearing somewhere to watch, hopefully in clips only pertaining to what the Dem's did to him...particularily want to see my Congresswoman Gwen Moore...but this bit with Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will get you all started! LOVE IT!!

Oh, I don't get to sleep on my new mattress tonight, I have to buy a different frame. :(

I sat with baited breath before the speech yesterday, waiting for the President to once again tell the country that he didn't agree with the Republican's, but he would have to do everything they wanted because we "have to compromise"...translation: Bye-Bye Medicare and Social Security. Imagine my Shock and Awe when he came out swinging. AC is still in heaven. My poor husband had all but given up on President Obama. I would equate it to the State Senator from Fond-du-Lac Randy "Bed" Hopper, who ran off with his lobbyist girlfriend and even his maid signed his recall petition...that is where AC was (in the maids role, of course). Now he is Happy Again! I think I heard a collective "sigh" after the speech...then I turned off the TV and didn't watch it for the rest of the afternoon.

When he said the line "There but for the grace of God go I" I almost fell out of my chair. I was actually going to put that in my last post about Paul "Eddie Munster" Ryan, but then I remembered I don't believe in God anymore..lol. But seriously, that is how I always look at life, right now I may have money in the bank and my health, but all it would take is the truck breaking down or me falling down the stairs and it would all be gone (OK there isn't much money there anyway, but it is over the $150 that was there for a year.) Maybe because we have never had much I don't feel the blinding need to keep it like the filthy rich seem to do in this country.

He smacked the Bush Administration, which was very satisfying:

(OMG, in trying to find the status I also see she posted one of the "if you are going to shut the Government down I am not going to pay my taxes, statuses...she has never paid taxes...EVER IN HER LIFE...hahahaha!)

The President addressed that too:

"Because all this spending is popular with both Republicans and Democrats alike, and because nobody wants to pay higher taxes, politicians are often eager to feed the impression that solving the problem is just a matter of eliminating waste and abuse –that tackling the deficit issue won't require tough choices. Or they suggest that we can somehow close our entire deficit by eliminating things like foreign aid, even though foreign aid makes up about 1% of our entire budget.

I say this everyday lately, but I truly have been feeling this way, "I do not belong in this world anymore." I find it very hard to live in a world of hate and "I got mine, fuck you!" That is not how I was brought up, that is not how I brought up my children, that is not how I want to live! I thought that my time on this planet has passed, then the President said this:

"A 70% cut to clean energy. A 25% cut in education. A 30% cut in transportation. Cuts in college Pell Grants that will grow to more than $1,000 per year. That's what they're proposing. These aren't the kind of cuts you make when you're trying to get rid of some waste or find extra savings in the budget. If there are bright young Americans who have the drive and the will but not the money to go to college, we can't afford to send them. Go to China and you'll see businesses opening research labs and solar facilities. South Korean children are outpacing our kids in math and science. Brazil is investing billions in new infrastructure and can run half their cars not on high-priced gasoline, but biofuels. And yet, we are presented with a vision that says the United States of America – the greatest nation on Earth – can't afford any of this.

"It's a vision that says America can't afford to keep the promise we've made to care for our seniors. It says that ten years from now, if you're a 65 year old who's eligible for Medicare, you should have to pay nearly $6,400 more than you would today. It says instead of guaranteed health care, you will get a voucher. And if that voucher isn't worth enough to buy insurance, tough luck – you're on your own. Put simply, it ends Medicare as we know it.

"This is a vision that says up to 50 million Americans have to lose their health insurance in order for us to reduce the deficit. And who are those 50 million Americans? Many are someone's grandparents who wouldn't be able afford nursing home care without Medicaid. Many are poor children. Some are middle-class families who have children with autism or Down's syndrome. Some are kids with disabilities so severe that they require 24-hour care. These are the Americans we'd be telling to fend for themselves.

"Worst of all, this is a vision that says even though America can't afford to invest in education or clean energy; even though we can't afford to care for seniors and poor children, we can somehow afford more than $1 trillion in new tax breaks for the wealthy. Think about it. In the last decade, the average income of the bottom 90% of all working Americans actually declined. The top 1% saw their income rise by an average of more than a quarter of a million dollars each. And that's who needs to pay less taxes? They want to give people like me a two hundred thousand dollar tax cut that's paid for by asking thirty three seniors to each pay six thousand dollars more in health costs? That's not right, and it's not going to happen as long as I'm President.

That is what I needed to hear, now we have to fight to get this done. So for those on facebook with me, watch out. When the ignorance around me starts to swell I might not hold my tongue anymore. I will probably lose my "friends", but honestly I don't know 2/3 of the paltry 38 people that are my "friends" on facebook. The people who "knew" me from High School never really "knew" me. I lived in SMALL TOWN America. We had a population of 300 people, on a good day. My High School Graduation class was 48 people. Up North if you weren't a Right Wing Republican you either MOVED or KEPT YOUR MOUTH SHUT! I got out and boy howdy am I glad!

So go read the Presidents Speech on Rachel's blog. Watch the video above again. Let's start taking our country back from the racist T-baggers and the corporate Republicans. Let's make this a country to be proud of again!

I Have Flowers

I keep forgetting to go out with the camera and get pictures of Spring. The last few crocus have been blooming for days. My hyacinth are in bloom in the front. But on my way out to the recycle bin for the sixth time I remembered I had a camera on my phone, even though it suck! Another thing, why did I inherit my Mother's obsessions with boxes? She never got a box she didn't like and today I must have taken 3 loads of broke down boxes out of my office alone, tomorrow I clear out the kitchen.

Let's Talk Eddie Munster...um, I Mean Paul Ryan

This is going to be short but sweet because I have 2 mattress sets coming tomorrow, neither of which are going to be put in a frame right away, so I have to rearrange my office so I can fit in a queen size mattress set until Christie moves into her new apartment in August...yikes! AC said they might put it in the attic, but thems is a lot of stairs to do when they are just going to have to carry it down again.

OK, so Paul Ryan...he has done nothing for the hardest hit town in Wisconsin, his home town of Janesville. Today I found a blog that reported on the 47.3% poverty level for school children in Janesville...did I mention it was Paul Ryan's home town? Now he has proposed removing the last safety net for us in our old age. Actually he isn't ripping it away from everyone. He is leaving it intact for those over 55 years of age and older. He is banking on that fake T-bagger anger that was so apparent in the Health Care debate to float this boat. Ryan is banking on those old folks who came through so stellarly in the Health Care debate against those filthy uninsured of this country, to once again step up to the plate and swing away. You know the ones, out there with their medicare paid for walkers, and their medicaid paid for oxygen, chanting "Keep you Government hands of my Medicare". I guess we will find out for sure if these "good Americans", that "worked hard all their lives" and "deserve everything the government is giving them", will back Ryan in his plan to strip away us youngun's safety net. I do know one "OLD" friend of my Mother's who genuinely believes 'I got mine, FUCK you' (notably, she lives in Paul Ryan's Congressional District). I just wonder how many of her there are out there?

Well Dang It I'm 50

Not only am I 50 but I didn't lose the weight I wanted (I wanted to be under 200 lbs by today)...Dang! LOL.
So I have once again altered my goal to 180 by my 51st birthday. Skinny keeps getting farther away, but I know how to do it now, so I will get back on my diet, back on my treadmill and back in the garden and things will start moving downward again. Sheesh...why is so easy to get to 280 lbs and so hard to lose 12 frickin' lbs to get to 199?

Yes I am going to be one of THOSE old ladies....Complain, complain, bitch, bitch GET OFF MY LAWN!

And there were just enough votes to get the Democrat ahead so far that the State wouldn't pay for a Recount? Can you just imagine what they would have said today? I am certain they wouldn't have said what I said on facebook,

I just love the fact that she has on Mordecai Lee (two nights in a row!)...Professor of Governmental Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee...my son's Alma Mater...I love saying that, my son's Alma Mater, like he ever took a class with Professor Lee. Nothing surprises me anymore! Kloppenburg won....Prosses won....Kloppenburg won...oh wait, what is this in my copy machine here in my home office? Look it is 7000 votes for Prosser! HE WON! I give you a big huge WHATEVER! Is anyone out there who knows WI shocked that they found 7500 hidden votes in Brookfield of all places? HA! Is anyone who knows WI shocked to find out the woman who found the votes worked for the Republicans in Madison. Seriously?! I knew they were going to do something, I mean look at the way Lil Scott Walker has handled himself since he was elected. He thinks he was elected king! We need to scrub this State of the filth in office right now! I am no longer young (or I won't be after Monday...I have a few days left!), but in my life time, even with Nixon, I haven't see this kind of hubris shown by Scotty Walker, I bet even the Shrub is impressed. (He must have a teeny-tiny-itty-bitty penis!..just sayin') I just hope that we don't get discouraged, we get active. We need to keep the momentum going! They just delivered the recall petitions for the second Republican Senator to Madison yesterday. It is shocking but they already have the signatures for Randy "the bed hopper" Hopper already, including his ex-wife and ex-maid's signatures.

So is there anything else going on? Oh just the Republican's shutting down the Government again! AGAIN? It worked out so well the first time they thought they would do it again, but why not? They have found that "trickle down economics" failed so completely that they just have to continue it for THE REST OF MY FUCKING LIFE!!! WOW...if ignorance is bliss, why aren't the Republicans a happier bunch, because they sure are STUPID! Well, this time they are shutting it down because of Planned Parenthood, because they might give an abortion once and a while...while doing cancer screenings, STD screening and giving out birth control and reproductive counselling. That is worth SHUTTING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT!! But wait that isn't all...we can still breathe the air, well some of us can. I have two kids and a husband with asthma and a Mother with COPD, but who is counting? Getting rid of the EPA is worth tanking the economy and shutting down the Government...right?!? How much longer must we suffer the STUPID that is conservatism in this country? Even my favorite news channel is not safe from the GOP STUPID. Yesterday on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchel show, she was being snarky with Congresswoman Barbara Lee and said "If they shut the Government down those poor Senator's would have to push the buttons on the elevator themselves because the elevator operators would be laid off...those poor Senators." To which Congresswoman Lee replied, "I am not worried about the Senators I am worried about those elevator operators. They don't make a lot of money to begin with, now they won't be getting a pay check at all." Shallow Mitchell had NOTHING to say to that! BITCH!!

And just to add a little humor to what has been a humorless week, I went to get my new Drivers License yesterday. Of course my almost 50 year old face had a zit, so I went out and got a new makeup to cover it up. I slathered makeup on about an inch thick and headed off to get my picture take. A picture that will be used for the next 8 years to identify me. I AM ORANGE!! The makeup was orange! I look like Mrs. John Boehner...I am an Oompa Loompa! ORANGE! You know what really sucks? It was a decent picture of me...WAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......

That is one chick I WILL NOT tolerate!

So where have I been, you ask...or maybe you didn't, but I don't care this is my blog so I am going to tell you! I have been massively SICK! I don't do sick well, so it probably was just a little cold, but to me it was MASSIVE! Ya know what happens when the caregiver gets sick? NOTHING! Dinner gets reduced to whatever left over is in the freezer, the house turn into dusty, dog haired mess, Mom's don't get laundered and pressed and clothes don't get bathed...wait I think I got those last two mixed up, I'll be right back I have to get Mom out of the washer! My sense of humor hasn't gotten any better either...everybody knows I don't press clothes!

Well, hopefully I am back...but a nap on the couch is looking pretty good right now...
